The upcoming Olympic Games play significant in tourism industry and create the cosmopolitan in China

Olympic Games are the most precious events in the world of all types of games of sports and it is one among major historical factors creating traveling and tourism phenomenon. The last Olympic Games were held in 2004 at Athens in Greece. Major sports events are not a new phenomenon in Asia; Tokyo and Seoul have both hosted successful Olympic Games, the first Asian Games was held 95 years ago and the South East Asian games has been on the calendar for 50 years. The upcoming mega-sport event known as Olympic Games, which is going to take place on 8 August 2008 in Beijing, the capital of China, will drive significant in tourism volume in Asia, where there are many world heritage sites including Angkor Wat and Preah Vihear temple in Cambodia which is recently listed as the world heritage site by UNESCO on 7 July 2008.

Due to the large volume of international tourists supposed to come to visit the upcoming mega-event in China, many business operations especially tourism industry plays important role in pre-arrangement and facilities and services provision for the international tourists and participants. In China, new hotels have been built in harmony with the sanitation campaign in order to properly welcome in this grand occasion. In the 16 days Olympic Games celebration, some ten thousand athletes have been estimated to participate. Moreover, around twenty thousand media partners and channels would bring the Olympic Games ‘live’ to the world. Olympic Games will also become the true cosmopolitan atmosphere in China and interesting feature for tourism industry in this country.

The large volume of tourists flow to the event is expected to spread out other Asia countries as the tourists psychologically aim to view and experience other foremost destinations in Asia, which attracts international tourists to grow increasingly. However, tourist visa application is a major considerable factor accelerating the numbers of tourism flow. And the number of tourists would decrease in the case that the visa application is restrict concerning the security.
